Ron Cortez has passed away
January 11th, 2018 by James Chartres
It is with great sadness we report that Ron Cortez passed away peacefully at 6:00 am on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. His sister Cheryl would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and all the visitors who continued to come up until last night. Details regarding a celebration of life will be forthcoming.
On January 4, Ron Cortez suffered a massive stroke that left him paralyzed on his right side and unable able to speak or swallow. As a racer and the owner of AIM Tires at Sonoma Raceway he is always a great part of our racing community.
His family would like to thank everyone, including the global motorsports community who Ron loves & supported, for all the prayers, well wishes, good thoughts & hospital visits, as they maneuver through these uncharted waters.
