2008 PAX/RTP Index
Welcome to the Solo2/Autocross Program of the Sacramento Chapter of Sports Car Club of America! Solo2 (also called Autocross or Slalom) is a contest of driving skill. We run against the clock (i.e. "solo") on short courses that emphasize car handling and agility rather than speed or power. Speeds and hazards to spectators, participants, and property do not exceed those encountered in normal, legal highway driving. Thrills and fun, however, do. Best of all, you can enter in your street car! Come Autocross with us! Sacramento CUP events are open to all licensed drivers, and we welcome new participants. We have some loaner helmets available and there is a class for everyone. It's easy, safe and fun for the whole family. Experience your car's limits and improve your driving skills in a safe, friendly environment.

Changes
for the 2008 Season Afternoon Run Group Start Time: We can now start the afternoon run groups at 12:00 Noon instead of waiting until 1:00, so if your running in the afternoon you will need to show up around 10:30 or 11:00 if you plan on walking the course. Sunday First Car Our Start Time: 8:00am, this is an hour earlier than last year. Again you will need to show up between 6:30am and 7:00am if you plan on walking the course. ********************************************* Shriner's Event Weekend Both days the start time for First Car Out will be 8:00am. NO RUNNING OUT OF RUN GROUP You must walk the course, to drive the course-If you show up late for the Morning Run Group and there isn't enough time for you to walk the course, You will have to wait until the Afternoon Run Groups to run. (Sorry for this, but last year we had way to many DNF's and the Run Groups were way out of balance-creating extremely long work assignments) When the Course is closed for walking in the First Run Groups, Registration will close until the First car starts their run and then open back up for the Afternoon Run Groups. ****************************************** Doug's Space I'm going to use this little space to try and fix a few problems we seem to be having. 1. Car Number (placed on your score card) 2. Car Class (placed on your score card--if not you will be classed in "A" Mod, to save me the time of looking it up) 3. Drifting---No Can Do!!!!! This is an Auto-X not an exhibition in sideways driving. There's a time and a place--just not while we are Auto-xing. 4. Class Letters need to be on your car, if not see #2 above. I'll supply the tape, if you guys and gals will use it. 5. Items left on Grid---We will store an item left on grid in the trailer over night, we will announce said item through out the day---once the event is over on Sunday it goes in the trash or is given away. 6. Trophies---If you qualify for a Trophy and don't come to the Awards Banquet, you will have until Round 4 to pick it up or let Us know when you can pick it up. After Round 4, just like items left on grid they will be tossed or returned for credit if possible. If you don't want a Trophy let Us know. 7. NOT ASKING FOR HELP: Please don't be afraid to ask for help, We have over 100yrs of Auto-X experience in the Sacramento Chapter. If you are getting lost on course--we can put a passenger in your car to help you get it figured out.
