Does FSP surprise you? If so you'd
better check out the FasTrack for new Street Prepared Classes -- cars have
been moved all over the place. New Mod classes, too
NEW Rookie Classes
We have changed the makeup of our Rookie Classes.
As before, all Rookies in a Rookie Class -- say, Rookie 1 -- compete for
a single set of trophies. But all rookies will now run in the same run
group as their Open Class. The Rookies that run together in a run group
will make up a separate Rookie Class.
As a result we will have 7 Rookie Classes.
Starting in Round 5, the following changes take
effect:
CSP-R has moved from Rookie 4 to Rookie 5
Street Mod-R has moved from Rookie 6 to Rookie
4
FS-R, ESP-R
DS-R, GS-R, DSP-R
AS-R, BS-R, CS-R
Street Touring-R, Street
Modified-R
SS-R, ASP-R, BSP-R CSP-R
OSP-R, F125-R, Mod-R
ES-R, HS-R, FSP-R, Prep-R
Stock and Street Prepared Rookies
may run street tires only -- treadwear rating of 120 or more.
Modified and Prepared Class Rookies may use any Solo2
legal tire.
Street Touring
(SCCA STR Class) -- Sedans 3.1 liters or under, modified more than
Stock, Less than SP. This class may run on any
DOT approved tires, including R tires.
(We can't call it ST-R, cause that means Rookie in SFR!)
Street Touring
S (SCCA STS Class) -- Same rules as Street Touring, but
running Street Tires (treadwear rating 140 or greater).
For indexed overall finish the STS PAX index will be used.
For STS cars running in PAX class, the STS PAX index will be used.
However, we use the PAX index for STR for all Street Touring cars
running Rookie or Street Tire, because the cars in these classes are compared
using their open class (R Tire) index but running street tires.
Also note that SCCA STS has more restrictive tire rules than SFR's Street
Tire class -- 140 treadwear index instead of 120.
STS is not a National SCCA class this year, but is run as a supplemental
class at national events.
