How we Run Events in 2000
General Event Information
-
Events are open to SCCA members only.
Memberships of several types are available at every event site. This
new policy starts July 9, 2000.
-
The event will be conducted according to SCCA Solo II rules, as amended
by SFR Supplemental regulations
-
Karts in SFR events are governed by
the SFR Kart Rules
-
SFR Handicapping indexes, which are based on
the most recently published PAX indexes, will be used to calculate
indexed class standings (e.g. Rookies, PAX, Street Tire).
-
Entry Fee: $25;
-
By entering you agree to work your assigned work group;
-
SCCA membership card and valid drivers' license are required;
-
Helmet is required: Snell type M or SA, '85 or later ONLY; Loaners
are available. In 2001, must be Snell '90 or later.
-
First run group is run on an "inverted grid":
-
First car to arrive on grid is put into last position;
-
Last car to arrive will run first;
-
Cars in the first run group will be tech'ed on grid.
WHY? Because the first car out each day runs on a slippery, dirty track,
and smart drivers want others to clean it off for them. Grid Early.
General Event Schedule
-
For first half run groups arrive 1 to 1 1/2 hours before the first
car out to walk the course, register and have your car tech'ed. Help is
appreciated in setting up the course and marking cones.
-
MANDATORY Morning Drivers' Meeting Starts
8:30 AM; At some events, this will be later -- check the specific
event's Info Page. First car out IMMEDIATELY following.
-
Other run groups have no set schedule, but start as soon as possible
-
For second half run groups, arrive no later than 11:30 AM;
-
Registration closes at NOON;
-
A course walkthrough is offered just before the MANDATORY
Afternoon Drivers' Meeting which will not start before 12:30
PM;
-
Technical inspection is usually performed on grid; When this is not done,
however, tech will close at 1:00
PM;
-
Please stick around and help clear the site!
