About the Divisional

Why are Divisional Solo II events held in each division? One reason is to promote inter-regional competition and camaraderie within the Solo community. The second reason is for meeting the National Solo II entry requirement as specified in section 4.2.E of the Solo II rules. Another reason is to help prepare/familiarize the competitor with the method of how the Solo II Nationals event is conducted in Topeka. This will be a great opportunity for the SFR rookies to experience what a national caliber event is like if they choose to attend the Solo II Nationals in Topeka sometime in their future. Also, the event will help them to gauge their driving skill level with national level drivers in their respective class.

SFR Rookie, Street Tire, Open Street Prepared (OSP) and the Sacramento Chapter local "B" Street Prepared Vintage (BSPV) classes, and the respective ladies classes will be allowed to compete in the event as supplemental classes, and are eligible for event trophies and SFR series points only. The SFR Pax class competitor must compete in their appropriate Open or Ladies classes. There will not be a SFR Pax run group. The eligible vehicles for the BSPV class are 1953-1982 Chevrolet Corvette equipped with M&H Race slick tires.

Another factor in administering/hosting the divisional event, all entrants are required to pre-register and must be current SCCA members. A non-member may sign up by completing membership application and your membership application may be attached to your event entry. The event entry information will be provided shortly.

Another important subject is the Tech Inspection. All safety related items will be inspected for compliance with section 3.3.C of the Solo II rules. I strongly encourage every competitor to read 3.3.C of the Solo II rules in order to prepare you for the inspection. There are only two tech inspection sessions. They are the same time periods as the registration sessions. After you complete the tech inspection a tech inspection sticker will be affixed to your car. You must have the tech inspection sticker in order to run.

Car numbering is very important for timing & scoring. Numbers higher than 99 will not be allowed. Also, you will only be allowed no more than two drivers per car in the same class. The ladies class entrants do not count with the open class. In otherwords, one car will be allowed to have a maximum of two drivers in the open class and the same car will be allowed to have a maximum of two drivers in the respective ladies class. All cars will run in numerical order in their respective class and with their class.

If any car has two drivers in the same class, the first driver will be required to have a car number 40 and lower. The second driver will be required to run with a car number 100+ the first driver’s number. In otherwords, if the first driver runs number “19”, the second driver will be required to run the number of “119”. The car numbers will be assigned on a first come first served basis. Local SFR permanent numbers will not prevail for this event. So if you want to use a number that meets the requirements of the Solo II rules for this event, you should get your entry in early.

The grid procedure will be different than a local SFR regular series event. Every driver/car will be assigned a home spot on the grid. This will be your home spot for both days. Information on the grid home assignments will be provided at the event. You will be required to return to your assigned spot after each run and this includes after your last run of the day.

Each competitor will be required to submit to an impound inspection at the conclusion of their run group. After the run group is completed you will be escorted to the impound inspection area for a thirty minute period.

Please don’t feel intimidated by the format of the event. A divisional is truly is pleasurable experience and you will have fun and learn a lot.

Your entry fee will include a dinner provided by the famous Chef Jesus Villarreal and associates. If you have never experienced a Chef Jesus Saturday night social dinner, then you are missing something.

Trophies will be awarded as per the Solo II rules. In addition to awarding trophies to class winners, trophies will be awarded to rookies based on their performance against their fellow rookie drivers. More details will be announced on this subject.
