A Last Lap Tribute to Billy Garrison

For those who might have missed it, at the season opening event, a tribute to a wonderful man took place at the close of the lunch hour. All the Emergency vehicles and most of the crew toured the track one final time for Billy Garrison, who passed away on November 27, 1996. As you review the photos, think about the good times, the fun times, and say a little prayer to the Man above for ever-lasting life.

The Start of the last lap, in Billy's truck, with the Emergency truck behind.
The Start of the procession. As the trucks pass by, note the large oversize checker flags, as they wave in the slow breeze of the tow truck draft.
The Start continues, now the Emergency truck passes by, with the Ambulance behind, off on the last two and one-half miles. "Billy loved this place." was a phrase heard often.
The Finish where Billy's truck has dropped back from the rest, and while it moves slowly over the Finish line, the memories of Billy were waved through by 21 checkered flags.
