Minutes, 1999 Board of Directors
November 21, 1998
The Board members was called to order by R.E., Sal Versaggi 11:55 AM on November 21,
1998,at the Marriott Hotel in San Ramon.
The Board Members present were Ian Cook, Tom McCarthy, Steve Archer, Kevin Jenkins, RJ
Gordy, and Leslie Berry. Also present was David Vodden,.
The R.E., Sal Versaggi asked each Board Member to set their direction for 1999. The
comments were:
 | Leslie Berry - Better communication between the Board and the Club, wants to participate
and wants information from Chiefs, Drivers, Workers, and be unified. Our focus should be
not to loose sight of the Club. |
 | R.J. Gordy - Improve communication with the Club to let them know what is going on. He
wants to eliminate the friction and improve the relations between the Stewards and the
Board. He wants to see the Board work as a team. "We are a club and each one of us
deserves a return on our investment. We have the best product 'SFR SCCA'. Our people are
our best resources. In order to ensure our future we need new members." |
 | Kevin Jenkins - Schedule events that Drivers will come to. Schedule events that workers
will want to work. Kevin want to provide input to the Region schedules and be involved
with the remodeling of a computer system for Timing and Scoring. Kevin stressed the
importance of David Vodden to the Region. |
 | Ian Cook - To be a Club is the number one importance. Keep the fun factor. He stressed
communications and that we are a family. "We need the membership to grow." |
 | Steve Archer - "We have to make mistakes to learn and I will take what I learned
last year and be more knowledgeable in future decisions. Schedule events to encourage
Driver participation. We also need to realize the importance of a good office manager.
Worker Chiefs are extremely important and they must not loose sight that they too can ask
questions." Steve is in favor of mandatory drivers meetings, taking one group per
weekend and improving communications between the Board and the Region. |
 | Tom McCarthy - "We need new projects with new ideas. We all must help in problem
solving. We should continue to increase the membership base. The Competition Director is a
primary role of our organization." |
