Cars must be street legal, possess a current valid license and registration; and pass tech inspection.

All cars must be street legal, possess a current valid license and registration; and meet the inspection required by Time Trial Rules (TTR), section 9.2.1. Vehicles that are not street legal must be eligible for classification in GCR classes of SS, Touring or IT; or Solo Categories Stock, Street Touring, Street Prepared or Street Mod.

Open wheeled cars are not allowed in the PDX and all convertibles must have factory rollover protection, a removable factory hardtop installed with factory attachments or a roll bar as specified in TTR, section 11.1.

A vehicle safety inspection is required for all cars entered in a PDX. Proof of annual Tech Inspection in Time Trials or Club Racing shall meet this requirement.

Tech Inspection will include a check of the following items:

  1. Convertibles and Targa top automobiles must have either a roll bar meeting Section 11 of the SCCA Time Trial Rules; a factory hard top using the factory mounting hardware and mounting points; or factory roll-over protection. On convertibles with roll bars, convertible tops must be fully down or fully up and fastened.
  2. Sunroofs must be closed securely.
  3. Brake lights are required on all cars.
  4. A restraint system meeting federal standards for the year of manufacture of the vehicle must be in each of the front seating positions. At a minimum, a three-point system must be in place. A competition type five-point harness is required in cars modified for racing.
  5. All vehicles must have a front passenger seat where the passenger is afforded the same safety equipment as the driver. This requirement may be waived only by specific permission from the Chief Instructor or Chief Steward prior to the event.
  6. Any car that is judged to be in an unsafe operating condition at any time during the event shall be prohibited from further participation until the deficiency is corrected.
  7. All loose items inside and outside the car must be removed.
  8. The passenger seat back and cushion must be secured
