Once you have your Novice Permit, you will compete with it for at least two races

For each race you run with your Novice Permit, you will need to complete the following steps:

At the end of a race weekend, you need to do the following:

  • Obtain official results from your race group
  • Race results are available from Race Administration. Provisional results for your group remain posted for 30 minutes after the race. Then official results are printed, provided there are no protests, tech issues or steward’s actions. Depending on the severity of the issue, it may take some time before official results are printed.
  • Go to Race Administration and ask to see the Chief Steward
  • Make sure you have a copy of your official race group results. The Chief Steward will not sign your permit without a copy.
  • Have the Chief Steward sign off your Novice Permit

When the second race is signed off, you can send your Novice Permit to SCCA National, along with the Regional Competition License application and appropriate fee. Be sure to keep a copy of everything you submit. National SCCA will send your updated membership card and Regional Competition license.
