Performance Driving Experience fills the gap between Solo autocross competition and Club Racing wheel-to-wheel racing.
PDX is SCCA's brand name for the first level of SCCA-sanctioned time trial competition, subsequent levels being Club Trials and Track Trials. It is a replacement for SCCA's now-defunct “Solo I” program that featured timed competition runs on race circuits. The purpose of the PDX is to provide participants an opportunity to learn more about their cars and how to drive them safely in a performance environment. Everything is designed to educate you and make you more confident behind the wheel, both on the track and on the street. Participants receive a solid blend of one-on-one driving instruction, classroom discussion and in-car follow-the-instructor sessions. Each driver receives feedback from his or her instructor at the end of each session.
