SFR SCCA Board of Directors Minutes
Present - Mike Smith, Bryan Nemy, Peter Nosler, Ed Railton, Blake Tatum, Sherry Grantz. Absent – Morris Hamm, Dave Allen. • Region Administrators Report – Sherry Grantz Sherry indicated that Thunderhill will be selling dinners on Friday and Saturday nights at all of our events. Ian is looking for a pace car replacement. We will sell the Camaro. • Secretary’s Report – Bryan Nemy The minutes of the December 17 meeting were reviewed and some changes noted. Motion by Ed Railton, seconded by Blake Tatum to approve the changes to the report. • Recruiting Report – Sherry Grantz Sherry indicated that there was no response from the ads placed in various senior publications. She ran an ad in Craig’s List - Sacramento and found 5-6 good candidates. There were 15 candidates. The board discussed attributes to look for in a good candidate. • Membership – Bryan Membership numbers are down. The board discussed ways to bring the number up. Some felt that the $15 temporary membership may reduce the number of full members. • Treasurer’s Report – Ed Railton/Sherry Grantz Discussed the report. Motion by Blake Tatum, seconded by Ed Railton to approve the report. Updates • Thunderhill – Mike Smith The region was presented a $50K dividend at the last TH board meeting. • 2008 Budget – Mike Smith The Board discussed the contingency list for Regional/National races. Also discussed the possibility of race sponsors. • 2008 Schedule – Mike Smith The Formula Mazda Challenge will take place at 3 events this year. They will run with Formula Atlantic. There will also be the AIM-Toyo Challenge. ASC group will run in group 3 at the Formula V Festival. Future Champs will have a purse of $3,500 this year. Test day dates are being worked on. Peter said that he will relinquish his date that he had on April 10 at Thunderhill to be used for feature classes. The board discussed insurance costs. 30% of solo entry fees go to nationals for sanction and insurance fees. • 2008 Supps The Board decide to approve what we have put together. Discussed a split start for V’s and better enforcement on starts. • Board Liaisons – All No reports • Chiefs Meeting The board discussed the agenda. • Drivers School – Peter Nosler We are looking at about 70 students for the school. There will be more of an emphasis on instructor quality. • Correspondence None Next Board Meeting Date – Monday, February 25 6:00 pm at Mike Smith’s office.
