Spec Miata Challenge Points as of April 14, 2008

The 2008 Spec Miata program features two Future Champions Races, with the first race at the May 3-4 Regional at Laguna Seca. The second Future Champions Race will be during the June 27-29 Double Regional at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Each of these events give those who qualify in the last 40 in SMT/SSM an opportunity to compete for $3500 in SFR Bucks. First through 30th place in each Future Champions race will receive certificates good for discounts on future race entries.

The AIM/Toyo Spec Miata Challenge will offer $10,000 in prize money for the top 30 drivers at the end of the four-race series. Series dates are: April 12-13 (two races) at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey at the Vintage Spring Classic; July 26-27 at the SFR Regional at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows; and the Championship season-ending regional and weekend at Thunderhill Raceway on October 24-26.

Spec Miata Challenge Supplementary Regulations

Overall in 2008, Spec Miatas will compete for $25,000 in prizes. All SFR Mazda Spec Miatas - Spec Miata T (SMT) and Sealed Spec Miata (SSM) are eligible.

The Spec Miata Festival will be held on August 30-September 1 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma. The Festival race is an additional race on Sunday for all those entered in SMT and SSM with no additional entry fee. All Spec Miata drivers are entered in a prize drawing for Toyo tires, race entries, Thunderhill Park test days and other items, valued at over $2500.

At the end of the season, AIM Motorsports will award $7500 in Toyo bucks for Toyo tires to the top finishers in the 2008 San Francisco Region Championship Series. Winners are those who amass the most points over the course of the 11-race regional series starting March 29-30 at Infineon Raceway and ending October 24-26 at Thunderhill Raceway.
