San Francisco Region is one of the very few regions in the nation that still sanction Concours, a tradition that goes back 50 years. Concours d'Elegance is a display of classic vintage and exotic cars, polished to their finest. Spectators can view these fine examples of the automotive past and talk with proud owners about their fascinating history.

SCCA needs additional volunteers as field crew and judges. See the bottom of this page for details and contact information.

The following Concours will be sanctioned by SFR in 2008:

Our Fifth decade of celebrating all that's automotive

CORVETTE, America's sports car, is the American marque, and ALFA ROMEO has been chosen as the European marque. Although for quite different reasons, both hold positions of high regard in the automotive community, and pristine examples of both will be on display.

July 20

Presidio of San Francisco Concours d'Elegance

The Concours d’Elegance, the capstone event of the Concours weekend, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. on Sunday, July 20, on the Old Main Parade Ground at the Presidio’s Historic Main Post.  More than one-hundred antique, vintage, classic, and muscle cars will grace the lawn.  The field will be enclosed by a white picket fence, with portico-like entrances at either end.

Vehicles will begin arriving as early as 7a.m. with gates opening to the public at 10a.m.  At the bottom (east) end of the field will be an elevated stage.  All trophies will be displayed atop tables for entrants and attendees to appreciate.

Adjacent to the field and accessible only from the field will be a foodservice tent, providing complimentary continental breakfast to entrants and volunteers, prior to show-opening.  A gourmet buffet lunch will be offered with pre-purchase for those within the paid show area.

The featured marque for this inaugural show is an American classic, Packard. Judging for the Packard classes will be done by the two Packard-owners clubs. All other judging will be performed by San Francisco Region of the Sports Car Club of America, which has been sanctioning Concours for over one-half century, currently sanctioning five Concours in northern California.
